Jada Golden

Basketball

Jada Golden, a Cullman, Alabama native and Fairview High School graduate, brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and athletic expertise to her coaching role. After earning All-County and All-Area honors in 2017, A standout guard, she began her collegiate career at Wallace State Community College before transferring to the University of West Alabama (UWA), where she played three seasons from 2019 to 2022. At UWA, Jada was a consistent contributor, starting most games and earning recognition on the Gulf South Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. Known for her court vision and steady ball-handling, she tallied 60 assists in her final season while maintaining a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. Beyond her statistics, Jada’s game was defined by her defensive hustle, unselfish playmaking, and ability to inspire her teammates. Now transitioning into coaching, she is eager to share her knowledge, work ethic, and passion for basketball with the next generation of athletes.


Off the court, Jada excelled academically, earning her Associate Degree in Science from Wallace State in 2019, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UWA in 2022. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Physical Education, expected to graduate in May 2026. Her athletic training background includes providing care, rehabilitation, and return-to-play management for multiple collegiate sports, including football, volleyball, soccer, cheer, and cross country, both at UWA and as a Graduate Assistant at Shorter University.


Jada’s coaching experience is extensive—she has worked multiple camps at WSCC, UWA, Cullman High School, and Holly Pond High School, specializing in shooting technique, ball handling, and defense. She has also provided private lessons, focusing on skill development and basketball fundamentals. Most recently, she served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach for Cullman High School’s girls’ basketball team, while also working as a Physical Education Instructional Assistant at Cullman City Primary School. Jada currently works at the OmniPlex as an Assistant Programs Coordinator and is the Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Holly Pond High School. 


Known for her effective coaching techniques, leadership skills, and deep understanding of player development, Jada also holds certifications in CPR/AED, OSHA safety, and has expertise in conditioning, nutrition, recovery, and basketball analytics. Her career is marked by a growth mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to inspire athletes both on and off the court. As she steps into her role in the basketball league, Jada is dedicated to fostering skill, confidence, and passion in the next generation of players.


Kelley Hubbard

Basketball, Softball

Kelley Hubbard brings a diverse background in education, athletics, and public service to her role as Assistant Programs Coordinator at Cullman Parks and Recreation. A graduate of the University of West Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in education, Kelley is also a former collegiate basketball player, having competed at both Wallace State and West Alabama.


Before joining Cullman Parks and Recreation, Kelley taught high school health and physical education and coached both basketball and softball, combining her passion for sports with a dedication to youth development. Her career also includes several years of experience in law enforcement, further highlighting her commitment to community service and safety.


Outside of work, Kelley enjoys all things sports, enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and is a proud sushi enthusiast. She is often accompanied by her service dog, a spirited Boston Terrier named Tootsie Roll.


Kelley is passionate about creating engaging, inclusive programs that encourage healthy lifestyles and community involvement for all ages.


Xavier Malcom

Basketball

Xavier Malcom, from Hanceville, Alabama, is a dynamic guard known for his sharpshooting and competitive spirit. His basketball journey began at the junior college level, where he showcased his scoring ability and shooting accuracy at Gadsden State Community College, averaging an impressive 18.5 points per game and shooting 45% from beyond the arc. He then transferred to the University of Montevallo, where he became a standout player and leader over three seasons.


At Montevallo, Xavier earned recognition as one of the Gulf South Conference’s premier shooters, leading the conference in three-point shooting percentage and ranking among the top players in made three-pointers per game. Averaging double-digit scoring in multiple seasons, he developed a reputation as a clutch performer who thrived in pressure situations. His leadership extended beyond scoring, as he was known for his work ethic, ability to read the game, and dedication to team success.


Beyond his collegiate career, Xavier has dedicated himself to coaching and developing youth athletes. He spent a year coaching at Athens Middle School, where he fostered young players' fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and love for the game. For over three years, Xavier has provided private lessons focused on shooting mechanics, ball handling, and overall basketball IQ, helping young athletes improve their confidence and skill level. His patient and encouraging coaching style, combined with a deep understanding of player development, allows him to connect effectively with youth players and motivate them to reach their full potential.



As a coach, Xavier emphasizes the importance of fundamentals, mental toughness, and teamwork. He is passionate about guiding players through their athletic journeys, instilling not only basketball skills but also discipline, resilience, and a growth mindset. Xavier’s blend of competitive experience and youth development expertise makes him a valuable mentor and coach for aspiring basketball players.


Ella Creel

Basketball

Ella Creel, a Cullman, Alabama native, built her basketball career on grit, hustle, and determination. A standout at Cullman High School, Ella played the small forward position, earning a reputation for her aggressive style of play and fearless approach on both ends of the court—despite not having the height often associated with her position. She continued her career at Wallace State Community College (WSCC), where she contributed as a reliable scorer and rebounder, bringing energy and toughness to every game.


Ella’s dedication, resilience, and passion for the sport have made her a leader both on and off the floor. Now stepping into a coaching role, she is excited to pass on her knowledge, competitive spirit, and team-first mindset to the next generation of players.


Lawson Schaffer

Basketball

Lawson Schaffer, hailing from Cullman, Alabama, has built a reputation for relentless energy, leadership, and dedication throughout his basketball journey. A standout at Cullman High School, Lawson earned the prestigious Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 6A Player of the Year award after an outstanding senior season, where he averaged over 21 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds per game while scoring nearly 2,000 career points. Despite his impressive high school accolades, Lawson chose the path of a preferred walk-on at the University of Alabama, where he played four seasons in the highly competitive Southeastern Conference (SEC).


During his collegiate career, Lawson appeared in 56 games, contributing as a spark plug off the bench known for his hustle, high basketball IQ, and team-first attitude. He earned a reputation as a fan favorite, providing energy and leadership that inspired teammates and coaches alike. Beyond his on-court skills, Lawson has demonstrated a strong commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and mentoring younger players.


Transitioning into coaching, Lawson brings this same passion and work ethic to the sidelines. His experience competing at the highest collegiate level, combined with his leadership qualities and understanding of game dynamics, equips him to teach players not only the fundamentals of basketball but also the values of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. Lawson is dedicated to helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.


Nevana "Nev" Stefanov

Volleyball

Coach Nev’s journey is a true American Dream — one built on perseverance, passion, and purpose.

Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Nevena “Nev” Stefanov discovered volleyball at the age of 8 in a country with both a rich volleyball tradition and a turbulent history. Despite the challenges of growing up during a civil war, she thrived through relentless work ethic and the support of outstanding coaches. By age 14, she earned a spot on the Serbian National Youth Team, helping lead them to a Balkan Championship victory.


At 18, with just two duffle bags and a dream, Nev moved to the United States after receiving a full athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). With minimal English and maximum determination, she quickly rose to prominence as a Division I setter, earning top honors including:


  • NCAA D1 All-American Honorable Mention (2018)
  • Conference USA Setter of the Year (2018)
  • Post-Eligibility Scholarship Recipient for Excellence On and Off the Court


Coach Nev holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Clinical Nutrition/Dietetics from UAB — a reflection of her belief in the total athlete: mind, body, and spirit.

After college, she transitioned into coaching through UAB summer camps, where she discovered her true calling: mentoring young athletes and building confidence through sport. That calling led her to found Blockout Academy, grounded in the core belief that a great coach changes lives — not just skillsets.


Dylan Finch

Basketball

Dylan Finch, a Cullman, Alabama native, has built his coaching career on commitment, leadership, and a relentless drive to win. A former Wallace State basketball player, Dylan transitioned from competing on the court to shaping teams from the sidelines, bringing the same passion and intensity that defined his playing days.


With seven years of coaching experience, Dylan has already made a lasting impact. He led the Cullman Middle School program to an undefeated 20–0 season in 2023, capturing a TVBA State Championship and earning TVBA Coach of the Year honors. He also contributed to an AHSAA 6A State Championship staff, further proving his ability to thrive at the highest levels of competition.


Now serving as Associate Head Coach at Cullman High School and Head Coach of the 8th Grade team, Dylan continues to inspire athletes with his competitive spirit and team-first approach, developing players who embody both skill and character.
